Kwila is by far the more popular decking for us at Rogers Build, and we find ourselves laying hundreds of metres of this natural hardwood. Kwila is a great product known for its strength, minimal movement, and long-lasting life span. Kwila can be kept its original colour by annual applications of stain or oil or can be left to “silver off”. All site meetings will include samples of the product and preferred stainless screws to pair with.

What is kwila?
Kwila heartwood is yellow-brown to dark red-brown in colour. The grain is slightly interlocked, and the texture is moderately coarse. Yellow deposits in the vessels are a common feature of the wood. It is non-siliceous and sometimes lustrous timber.
What maintenance is required for hardwood decking?
It is recommended Kwila be stained or oiled annually to keep colour or left to silver off on clients preference.
